アンパンマンとは何か？
「アンパンマン」は元々やなせたかし氏が描いた絵本が原作であり、そこから漫画、アニメ、映画へと大きく派生していきました。
特に、「それいけ！アンパンマン」は、日本では子供たちの間で最も人気のあるアニメ番組の一つとして知られています。
アンパンマンは頭があんぱんで出来ているスーパーヒーローで、バイキンマンという悪役と戦って世界の平和を守るというストーリーです。
アンパンマンに登場するキャラクターは、衣服、ゲーム、おもちゃ、お菓子など日本の子供向け製品全てに使われていると言っても過言ではありません。

What is Anpanman?
“Anpanman” was originally created by Takashi Yanase as a Japanese children’s picture book and has since expanded into a huge franchise which includes manga, anime and full length movies. The anime “Soreike! Anpanman” is one of the most popular anime series among young children in Japan.
Anpanman is a superhero that is made from a red-bean-filled pastry (well known as Anpan in Japan) who fights against a germ named Baikinman in order to protect the world.
Anpanman characters appear on virtually every imaginable children’s product in Japan such as clothes, video games, toys and snack foods.
Anpanman has grown to become one of the top-grossing characters in Japan.
キャラクター「アンパンマン」について
「アンパンマン」はアンパンマンの物語に登場する主人公であり、彼の頭はあんぱんで出来ています。
アンパンマンの敵はバイキンマンであり、彼とは同じ日に生まれています。
アンパンマンは男性であり、彼の英語の名前は「Beam Bun Man」です。
非常に友愛的な性格であり、マントを使って空を飛びながら常に彼の助けを求めている人を探しています。
もし空腹で困っている人がいたら、必要に応じ、彼の頭の一部をちぎって分け与えることも出来ます。
アンパンマンは周りの人達の食料を減らさないようにするため、何も食べません。
彼は栄養を頭の中のあんこからとっています。
ジャムおじさん、バタ子さん、チーズと共にパン屋に住んでいて、彼ら（彼女ら）がアンパンマンの頭が破損したりした際、新しい頭を焼いています。
アンパンマンの親友は食パンまんとカレーパンマンですが、ほとんど全ての人たちが友達です。
宿敵のバイキンマンとも友達になろうとしたりもします。
パンチとキックには特別な力があり、それぞれアンパンチとアンキックとして知られています。
彼の弱点は頭であり、もし濡れたり、汚くなったりした場合、力を失って飛べなくなったり動けなくなったりします。
ただ、ジャムおじさん、バタ子さん、チーズが新しい頭を焼くことができれば、そちらと交換することで問題が解決します。

About “Anpanman” character
Anpanman is the main character of Anpanman story.
His head is made of anpan, which is Japanese pastry which is filled with sweet red beans.
His enemy is Baikinman (baikin means germ in Japanese), who was born on the same day as him.
Anpanman’s gender is male and his English name is “Beam Bun Man”.
Anpanman is happy and friendly, ready to help anyone who needs assistance.
He can fly with his cape and he spends all day every day saving anyone who needs him.
He can pull off parts of his own head to feed hungry people, if needed. Anpanman never eats anything, making sure that everyone else around him gets enough to eat.
He gets the energy from the anko (sweet red-bean) in his head.
Anpanman lives in the bakery with Uncle Jam, Batter-ko and Cheese.
They bake Anpanman a new head whenever his head is damaged or broken.
His best friends are Shokupanman and Currypanman but he’s friends with almost everyone, even tries to become friends with Baikinman.
Anpanman’s punches and kicks have super powers, which are known as “An-punch” and “An-kick”.
His weakness is his head. If anything happens to his head such as getting wet or dirty, he gets weaker and eventually loses his power to fly and move.
All these are fixed if he gets a new head from Uncle Jam, Batter-ko and Cheese.

彼はバイキン星からアンパンマンの誕生日と同じ日にやってきた。

Baikinman is the main enemy for Anpanman in Anpanman story.
He came to earth from Baikin Planet on the same day as Anpanman was born.
Baikinman always tries to cause trouble with his evil plans but Anpanman always stops it.

ドキンちゃんはバイキンマンのパートナー。
自分勝手で欲張りな性格で、食パンマン以外の人が痛いおもいをしたり傷ついたりしても気にしない。
常にバイキンマンに命令を下し、食料や物や人物までもをとってくるように指示をする。
ただ、形勢が悪くなると、一番最初に退散していく。

Dokinchan is Baikinman’s partner.
She is selfish and greedy and does not care about anyone else getting hurt or suffering, except Shokupanman.
Dokinchan normally boses Baikinman around, getting him to fetch her foods or items and even people.
When they start to lose the fight, she is often the first to run.

誰の意見にも耳をかさず、他人のことを気にしない。

Kokinchan is the younger sister of Dokinchan.
She does what she wants when she wants to do it. She never listens to what anyone says and doesn’t care about anyone else’s feelings.
Kokinchan’s fake tears have the power to make anyone who comes into contact cry for no reason.

ロールパンナはメロンパンナの姉。
ジャムおじさんによって作られたが、その際バイキンマンにバイキン草エキスを加えられてしまい、善悪両方の心を持つようになってしまった。
アンパンマンを見たり、アンパンマンの事を聞いたりすると悪い心になってしまい、バイキンマンはそれを上手く使おうとする。ロールパンナの前でのみ、良い心が反応する。
迷惑をかけたくないということで、皆から離れた山奥で1人暮らしている。

Rollpanna(chan)
Rollpanna is Melonpanna’s older sister.
When she was being created by Uncle Jam, Baikinman added a bad ingredient (baikin grass) to the mix, which caused Rollpanna to be born with two hearts.
One heart is good and one is bad.
Her bad heart is triggered when she sees Anpanman or when Anpanman is mentioned.
Her good heart is triggered when she sees Melonpanna.
Because of this, her evil half is a powerful ally to Baikinman.
Rollpanna is aware of what she does and stays away from everyone, living in the mountains.

彼はカレーで出来ており、気取った自信に満ち溢れた性格をしていて、楽しいことが大好き。

He is made from a bun filled with a hot spicy yellow curry.
Currypanman is cocky and proud and loves excitement. He is kind and generous, always looking for a chance to feed people his curry.

Currypanman holds spicy curry in his head, which he can spit out to blind opponents or to even feed people.

Melonpanna can squeeze droplets of melon juice out of her head, which cures characters who have been harmed by Baikinman’s attack.
